To match the typo on his birth certificate, Odd does live up to his name. He’s very calm and collective even in the midst of pandemonium, although with a penchant for thinking too much. In spite of that, he does what he can to protect the ones he loves dearly. Odd would be willing to crawl through death’s teeth in order to save a friend (which he has on a few occasions, and nearly died himself). Due to his troubled childhood, there’s a great need to help people in Odd Thomas, and though he hates violence and the use of guns, he won’t hesitate to pick up one to protect someone—or himself.

He cracks jokes even when it’s not very appropriate, and his humor can come off as fairly dry since he doesn’t laugh much himself—though it’s not like he’s overly serious. Thoughtful, lighthearted, and humble, Odd plans to be a writer one day, but doesn’t make a big deal out of it, despite the fact that he’s already written a few manuscripts he doesn't want published until he's posthumous.

He’s also extremely polite, addressing his elders respectfully as “sir” and “ma’am” by force of habit even if they’re close friends. Very concerned for the welfare of others who are unable to help themselves, children in particular, Odd does what he can for the sake of other people.

Seeing how complicated his life had become, Odd chooses to go about a simple lifestyle, as overall he is a fairly simple man. For instance, he would take being a mere car salesman over the FBI any day. For him, trouble comes to him enough already than to simply invite it in from the front door. For this reason, he keeps the secret of his abilities to himself, only allowing a very few number of close friends know.

Since the death of his soul mate, Stormy, he doesn’t spend much time grieving, even though at times he really should and he knows it. Another thing to note about Odd’s philosophy is that, because of Stormy, he views this life as “boot camp”, in that everyone is living to prepare for service in the next life. In this case, Odd is willing to train his hardest when he’s ready to be with Stormy again forever.

Before Manhattan

At the risk of sounding cheesy, the young man has a led rather odd history (his parents claimed his name was originally going to be “Todd”, but neither of them ever called him such, neither has anyone ever thought to fix it), if not a tragic one. As a child, Odd had an absent father and an insane mother. His hatred for guns stemmed from her, after she developed a morbid fascination with them. As she began her descent into madness, so did her tolerance for the people around her, including her son. All she wanted was to be “free”, and she viewed her child as a noose that kept her from breathing. Each time he craved for her attention, she would threaten to kill herself before her own boy. The vision of his mother and her words burned forever in Odd’s mind: “Do you want to pull the trigger? You might as well.” At one point, when he was terribly sick with a fever and her threats of suicide didn't stop him from crying, she put the gun to his face, so close that he could see the bullet. She claimed Odd was slowly killing her; eventually he couldn’t take it anymore and left during his last years of high school. Odd has not talked about this to anybody since, not even Stormy, and prefers to avoid the subject of his mother altogether.

During this time, Odd hadn’t spent much time in classrooms. While a fairly bright boy, there wasn’t much time he could spend in the classroom when the dead sought justice through him. He holds many untold “war stories” of the dilemmas his abilities had gotten him into, which he writes about in his later years.

For starters, Odd grew up in a small town in southern California called Pico Mundo—“little world”—where he spent most of his life. Over the course of his developing years, Odd found himself in quite a deal of trouble with people on the street, thanks to his gift—or curse—to see the dead which sought either retribution and/or peace. He also found himself in the company of the ghost of Elvis Presley, who he often hung out with for quite a few years.

To make up for all of that, as well as his neglectful mother, Odd found friends with a local cop who he helped out on several occasions, a famous writer he considers a mentor, and a girl he met from school named Bronwen Llewellyn (though she preferred to be called “Stormy” for her original name sounded too much like an elf’s). Him and Stormy were so perfect that he believed they were destined to be together forever. The only proof of this he ever needed came from a gypsy mummy while at a fair, which took but one quarter to say this while the previous couple had pumped in a few dollar’s worth, trying to get a promising fortune. Since then, the two had carried the fortune with them, as if it were a foretelling pledge.

For awhile, things were going well for him, in spite of carrying out his deeds with the lingering dead. He had survived twenty years, having enjoyed the simple life as a short-order cook at the local café, and was going to be married within the next month to his soul mate. There were only few Odd ever entrusted with his secret, including Stormy, Chief Porter, and Little Ozzie Boone.

Until one day there was an incident. For the previous day Odd had sensed the impending doom and tried to stop it; a series of strange and bizarre events followed, which included the poltergeist of a dead fat man ending up in his apartment and a black room that seemed to repeat itself. Odd had never claimed his life to be in any way normal, but some of the things he fell witness to those days struck him strange. Bodachs were gathering to witness the coming tragedy, about to befall upon the town. When in the end he seemed to be getting close to what force was behind the event, it was too little too late.

Odd had arrived at the right place at the wrong time at the mall where Stormy worked at, where he found several people were already killed and even more injured. Before he could make his way to Stormy, he had a run in with one of the three satanic-worshiping gunmans. For the first time, Odd picked up a gun and killed a man. The second gunman as well—the third had been arrested after the incident, but only after Odd had taken a few shots himself, turned off a bomb that was about to set off the mall, and nearly died from blood loss and injury. Because he had taken down the gunmans and saved a possible two hundred more victims, Odd was considered a hero. But the incident has left such a deep-seated scar that it hurts to talk about it to anyone.

For awhile, Odd went insane, cooping himself up in his apartment with just him and Stormy to avoid the media. It wasn’t until his friends showed up that he realized that Stormy had been one of the nineteen victims that died in the shooting. This realization came crashing down on him with heavy devastation that he had been living with Stormy's ghost for weeks.

After an incident six months later where he nearly lost yet another friend in a tragic incident, Odd sought refuge away from Pico Mundo. Over the time he had done some terrible things, hurt and killed a few people with his own hands, and needed to get away from both the living and the dead. With the help of Stormy’s father he spent some time in an abbey as a valued guest. His heroics earning him respect that he didn’t feel he deserved—after all, nineteen people died, including his beloved Stormy.

After the events of what went down in St. Bartholomew’s, Odd started to head back home with his mentor, Ozzie Boone, for Christmas. However, drawn by his psychic magnetism, Odd promptly told Ozzie to stop and got out of the car. “It has everything I need. Maybe trouble, but maybe peace. I can’t tell. But it sure is calling me.” Odd had been following that pull since.

The trip has been a long one, carrying him on a cross-country excursion into the unknown. Eventually upon going to sleep one night, Odd found himself waking in an abandoned house within the desolate ruins of what had once been Manhattan.

In Manhattan

Drawn by his psychic magnetism, Odd fell asleep in an abandoned house and woke up somewhere on the empty streets of Manhattan, with no memory of how he got there. His “Welcome to Hell” companion had been a little blue alien, Stitch, to who Odd had warmed up to from the very start instead of being weirded out. (As a matter of fact, at first Stitch reminded Odd of Brother John Heineman’s “floppies” back at St. Bartholomew’s, one of the cute but soulless creatures created from the Brother’s thoughts.)

Afterwards, he spent most of the day doing research in the local internet café in Madison Square Garden, trying to piece together the time he had lost and make sense of things. Unable to contact his friends back at Pico Mundo, Odd decided to settle in Manhattan for the time being.

Initially, he didn’t have a place to stay, and with the breaking twilight and no home, Odd wasn’t looking forward to being thrown out on the streets. That was when James Sunderland had decided to offer a room at the cathedral. Without a place to stay, Odd agreed, telling himself that he will eventually find a place for himself somewhere down the line. However, at this point this doesn’t seem likely to happen anytime soon.

Once moved into St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Odd has taken upon himself to do chores around the place, helping Harry Mason clean up and cook meals, as well as aid Sunderland in running errands. Being a former short order fry cook, it was a welcome change of setting for Odd Thomas. Still, he doesn’t quite know where his place in the strange little family is, but somehow feels as if he belongs there.

With his gift, right away Odd noticed the spirit of a sickly woman following James Sunderland around. Some time later, he learned that the woman was the spirit of Sunderland’s late wife, Mary. Currently he doesn’t know what to make of this. The impact of finding out that she may not have died from a sickness like Sunderland had said has left Odd a little dubious of Sunderland, and has decided to keep an eye out on the man.

Odd has also developed something of a friendship with the moody, teenage girl, Ginger Fitzgerald. Despite the fact that she constantly struggles with her primal instincts, Odd willingly risks his chances to hang out and maybe even help her, even if it may be a lost cause. Somehow, he isn't all that intimidated by her little death threats.

Over the period of time that Odd had spent in the city, he had been chased by a flood of crab parasites in The Great Escape (no thanks to his reverse psychic magnetism), repaired the cathedral rooftop after Clover’s Big Fucking Attack, rescued Lilia Pascalle from Birdman and sequentially brought her home, and recently divulged his secret to Harry Mason. Harry was the first one who Odd shared his secret with and, for a good long awhile, he plans on keeping it that way.

Afflicted by his insomnia, Odd ventured back onto the cathedral roof, what he considers his personal sanctuary from everyone when he needs alone time. Every so often he finds himself accompanied by Sunderland up there as well. Recently, while up on the roof, Odd lost control of himself and started speaking of things to Sunderland that he couldn’t possibly know of, such as his trip to Silent Hill. Odd has also become aware that Sunderland did something to Mary. In his panic, Sunderland attacked Odd, but then apologized. The event following resulted in Sunderland falling off the roof, Odd attempting to catch him but was too tired to pull him up. Fortunately, his roommate landed in a conveniently placed dumpster, and sustained no injuries beyond some cuts, a dislocated shoulder, and a sprained ankle. The two haven’t talked about what happened up on the rooftop since, and Odd was reluctant to share the story with Harry when asked.

Troubled by his little episode up on the rooftop, Odd needed some fresh air, excusing himself to the store for some painkillers. Along the way, he was sidetracked to the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, where he spent some time clearing his head a little. There, he met Kaylee Frye, a sweet young woman. She and Odd hit it off from the very start. Things seemed okay, until Kaylee talked about her experience with death and how people die normal. Odd lost control again, listing off a small list of deaths from just a few nearby graves which, far as he knew, had never happened to him before. He asked Kaylee to not tell anyone, and has no doubts that she would break that promise.

Before things could get better, they started to get worse on Halloween, when Odd went out once again to escape the cathedral madness. What started off to be a simple outing turned into an evening of childhood trauma, thanks to some tea with fear serum that Fran Madaraki offered to a handful of people. Odd’s experience had been in no way pleasant. Haunted by his mother’s shadow, the young man fled back to the cathedral and locked himself in his room. However, his mother followed him in. Odd relived the memory of when he had suffered influenza at age five, his mother held a gun to his face for a good long while when he wouldn’t stop coughing. Odd doesn’t remember much of what happened that night, except that Harry Mason had been there to help ground him back to reality, giving him a new sense of respect and appreciation. Still, his mother is not a subject Odd wishes to bring up again for awhile.

Over the course of the next few weeks, Odd found the cathedral visited by a hoard of bodachs (shadowed creatures that, like ghosts, are visible only to Odd Thomas and others like him, and appear only to herald a coming disaster leading to the potential deaths of many people. The only other time that bodachs appeared in a time that didn’t involve a great disaster, was potentially to witness Odd’s own death). Alerted instantly by their sudden reappearance, Odd took initiative with preparing for the worst. Once alerting both the others on the matter, Odd and Sunderland promptly started gathering supplies to fortify and defend the cathedral.

Most peculiarly, Odd found that the bodachs had taken a special interest in Lilia, which led him to believe that she had something to do with the coming attack. When Pascalle’s spirit went frantic with concern, he quickly went poltergeist on Odd, tearing apart and chasing him out his room before being almost crushed to death by his own bed. On his way out, he (literally) bumped into Kaylee visiting the cathedral, who noticed right away that Odd had been covered in bumps, bruises, and gashes from being cut by wood and glass. She helped clean him up some.

The next events led to the Wolf At The Door plot, in which Odd had taken part in helping Harry Mason take out Birdman. Particularly with the clever impromptu use of a fruit, which he used to trick Birdman into thinking was a gun long enough for Harry to make his attack.

With the remains of the cathedral barely holding up, Sunderland’s crab bite was found out. His futile attempt of suicide did not please Odd in the slightest. He took an even greater personal rage when Sunderland later confessed the details in that he killed his wife, and attempted to drown himself before ending up in Manhattan.

Regardless of the incident, Odd went out with a search party when Sunderland later left the cathedral without telling anyone. For three weeks Odd sought the widower out, at first with a search party that consisted of Billy Coen, Larsa, and Harry’s daughter, Cheryl Mason... but to no avail. To complicate matters, Odd had been out on the search when the city plunged into a missing day, losing an entire Thursday altogether. Cloverfield, who had been previously killed, had returned with a greater number of crab parasites. Unfortunately for Odd Thomas who had previously been attempting to harness his lost psychic magnetism, summoned only the misfortune of its reverse effect. This beckoned a great number of the crab community—right out of Central Park, no less. Odd was quickly subjected to yet another chase throughout Manhattan, though managed to survive with the help of Stitch, MacGyver, Ashe, and Goofy (some kid named Pokey and a mad scientist, Robotnik, got caught in the mess as well).

Three weeks went by before Odd managed to locate Sunderland, having given up using psychic magnetism on finding him altogether. Instead, in the ungodly hours of the night he was woken by Mary, Sunderland’s wife... and for the first time she was not anywhere near her husband. Without any forewarning, Odd gathered his things and left, too early to wake anyone in the cathedral. The entire day had been an exhausting one, as Mary had guided Odd aimlessly throughout the city until he realized that she was taking him around in circles. It them seemed that she would continue to do so until Odd came to fully realize what he needed to do in order to help Mary. With that, Odd discovered Sunderland at the Harlem Prison, sleeping in a jail cell. Hours later when he woke, Odd confided his own sins to Sunderland. Things that, far as anyone was concerned, the docile fry cook was incapable of.

Either way, the point was made. After a few thrown punches, the two finally agreed to go home. Odd still hadn’t yet confronted Sunderland about the lingering spirit of his murdered wife, but there will soon be a time and a place for that.

Some time after that, a major snowstorm hit Manhattan, trapping most people in their homes and a few lost on the street. If living in the Sierra Mountains had taught Odd anything, it was that you didn’t go outside unprepared. Zack Fair didn’t seem to take this to heart, and got himself stranded at a university. Odd went and rescued him and, while guiding him back to the Bryant Park Hotel, noticed something strange floating above them. However, due to the storm he couldn’t be sure what it was.

Odd helped Kaylee and a group of others when making some blanket deliveries to those who needed them. Not long after that, he had another fateful encounter while passing by the Grand Central Station: A woman dressed only in a white gown with no socks or shoes was wandering out from the subways. Having not the heart to leave the woman stranded, and in her health, Odd gave her his jacket and hunted down some proper clothes and rain boots for her before she got any sicker. She revealed to him that she had been terminally sick, and asked Odd if she had died. Of anyone in the city to be able to tell the difference between the dead and the living more, it was Odd Thomas. He assured her she was very much alive, and realizing that she wasn’t really in her right mind, took her in, not caring if Sunderland had anything to say about it. It was the start of a pretty close friendship with Garnet til Alexandros.

Having been too busy with things and taking care of others, Odd didn’t bother taking care of himself into account. While bringing in a plastic tree for the imminent Christmas party, Odd passed out in the nave, and for awhile remained bedridden while recovering. Sunderland offered to take care of him, and later Kaylee and MacGyver returned with some offerings of soup and good company as well. He assured Garnet that his getting sick was no fault other than his own. During this time he playfully mistook Garnet’s prim and proper behavior, and jested her royal status on a whim. It was then that he found out that Garnet wasn’t actually an aristocrat, but a queen. He was a little more entertained by the notion than anything, and swore to keep it between the two of them.

Although still recovering, he did attend the Christmas party, where he met Garnet’s friend, Zidane, who seemed more interested in the alcohol than he was in socializing. Being kind of the designated driver of the cathedral, Odd made an effort to look after Zidane. He figured already that Garnet had been living with him anyway, and was relieved that she had found comfort in some familiar faces from her world.

It was also at the Christmas party that Odd had been lured under some mistletoe by Malcolm Reynolds, in a devious attempt to hook Odd up with Kaylee. He sufficed by giving Kaylee a friendly kiss.

After the party, Odd and Garnet bonded a little more with talks of George Carlin-humor, Gypsy Mummies, and dead fiancées.

Some time later Odd had a little date (that was not a date) with Ashelia Dalmasca, and then some time afterwards returned from a trip to the roof to find Garnet camped out in the cathedral. She was a mess, and Odd comforted her through her grief. While it was no surprise when he found that she and Zidane had been more than friends, he was a little taken aback to find that Zidane, after all this time, had been involved with another woman. He warned Garnet not to do anything she would later regret, but didn’t fully blame her for any of the decisions she was probably about to make. He hoped for the best for the both of them.

For Garnet’s sake, Odd looked after Zidane when the guy decided to go out and get drunk. The two went out to Pete’s Tavern, talked awhile about putting up surveillances in the area. Something that Odd thought might be worth trying to look into.

A couple days later, Manhattan was devastated with another monster attack. Odd had been out looking for supplies at the time, when he found not just one giant monster but two rampaging down the street. In an attempt to avoid getting squashed by either of them, Odd retreated into a building only to have it collapse over him by the second, smaller monster. But its size didn’t make the damage any less overwhelming, as Odd regained consciousness to find that not only was his arm completely crushed, possibly beyond repair, but a lead pipe punctured clean through his left lung.

Whilst screaming in agony, Odd stressed to call for help over the radio while trapped beneath that building. For a brief while, Odd thought that he had died, and saw Stormy. But it was Ginger who had come to his rescue. Unfortunately, even after she had cleared the debris, there wasn’t much she would be able to do in the way of saving his life. Odd was dying, and his visions of Stormy seemed to be only a preview to that. After Ginger removed the pipe from his lung, Odd started bleeding out faster. Ginger then did the only thing she knew she could do.

She bit him.

Up until then, Odd had no idea that werewolves even existed. But if Ginger had told him about it then, he wouldn’t have been surprised. Once again he lost consciousness, and Ginger, in panic of what she had just done, fled. The bite didn’t seem to be taking much effect; it was when Naoki Kashima and Naoto Shirogane came along that Odd’s life was saved. Kashima performed a healing spell over Odd, taking care of his arm as well as the punctured lung, and while fending off the imminent crab parasites, Naoto carried Odd back to the cathedral.

He didn’t remember much of what happened after that, except the blurred days he spent lying in bed. Sunderland had a run for his money taking care of not only Odd, but Harry Mason as well, who had also been severely injured in the attack. Kaylee visited him in his room, along with Malcolm Reynolds and, later, Ginger herself.

Ginger explained to Odd that she was a lycanthrope, and that by biting him, there was a chance he would become like her. A little too shocked at the time to be able to react, he responded with sarcasm and wit, but inside it was the only way he knew how to cope with this revelation.

Still not sure how to react, he found Kaylee trying to perform a cheery guise for Odd, only to crumble with grief over all that had been happening to everybody. Odd could tell that somebody important had been taken away from her, and as his job had inadvertently become one to sooth people stricken with grief, he comforted Kaylee as well. It was then that he decided that it was probably best for everyone that they not find out what Ginger had done to him.

Confused by his emotions—both by Ginger and by his feelings towards Kaylee—Odd attended the Chinese New Years party, potentially to make up for him missing out on the New Years masquerade. Once again he encountered Maria by the bar, where he sat down and talked to her, and ordered a few beers. Much of what happened after that was a blur, although it’s safe to assume that we had a genuinely drunk Odd Thomas on our hands that night.

Relationships

Bronwen “Stormy” Llewellyn - Odd’s lost soul mate; however, he is currently unaware of her arrival in Manhattan. The last Odd saw Stormy, she departed this world after her spirit lingered, accompanying Odd when he went insane and locked himself up in his apartment for weeks. But she departed with her final words: Be happy. Persevere. Since then, it’s been Odd’s mantra for survival, which kept him going for five years since Stormy’s death.

Stitch - Odd’s first encounter after landing up in Manhattan, and thankfully so. Initially he mistook the creature for being one of John Heineman’s floppies, but with a little more life. However, Odd can’t help but smile, as Stitch simply has that effect. Overall, Odd is grateful to the little guy as his Welcome To Hell entourage, so to speak. Sadly, Odd hasn't heard much from Stitch for awhile. Not that he hasn't already got enough on his plate now. As stated once about Stitch: "At least it wasn’t wearing a porkpie hat. Then again, anything wearing a porkpie hat wasn’t a being of trustworthy credentials." Stitch also helped Odd out when he was being chased by a bunch of crab parasites by toppling over some debris from a rooftop. To this, he is eternally grateful to the little guy.

James Sunderland - Despite what they’ve gone through so far, Odd doesn’t know what to think of Sunderland yet. While he thinks of the man as something of a friend, the lingering spirit of Sunderland’s dead wife leaves an ominous air that could stand in the way of any friendship. While deep down Odd is certain of Sunderland’s good nature, he doesn’t want to find himself disappointed if he finds that he was wrong about Sunderland all along. Recently, though, Odd stumbled upon the revelation that Mary may not have died from the sickness like Sunderland had claimed. Not wanting to jump to any strict conclusions, Odd has decided to keep quiet about his suspicions for now, but will actively try to get silent answers from Mary and, if needs be, Sunderland himself.

Harry Mason - As both an elder and fellow writer, Odd respects Harry. Though it was Sunderland who invited him to their little family, Odd feels that he owes Harry a lot—possibly for being the other person under their roof to provide mental stability in the household. Harry is what grounds the family, and Odd has a pretty good feel of that from the man. Hell, Odd may even see a little bit of Ozzy Boone—his mentor and hero—in Harry Mason as well. Odd had come to trust Harry so much that he entrusted him with his secret, both coming to the understanding that his ability to see the dead (among other things) should be kept secret for the time being. Odd was a little surprised, if not grateful, to how well Harry took the news.

Walter Sullivan - With his entourage of murder victims (though no one else but Odd sees them), Walter makes Odd a little uncomfortable. At first he wasn’t sure if Walter held up the childish demeanor as a guise to fool the others, but after a few days he began to see that the man had gone through something Odd couldn’t even begin to comprehend. While he isn’t willing to let his guard down while around Walter completely, Odd doesn’t have anything drastic in mind anytime soon.

Ginger Fitzgerald - Odd wants to help Ginger. However, after she began pushing him away he had grown a little disillusioned with her for awhile. It’s hard to help someone who doesn’t want to be helped. Still, it isn’t in his nature to give up, and regardless Odd offered his aid to the girl whenever needed. This is also due to Ginger’s violent tendencies, to which Odd will do anything to see to that she doesn’t put anyone in the city in danger. For some reason Odd feels a little responsible for Ginger’s actions, in a way that if she does anything, he’ll to do what he can to talk her down from it. He still isn’t entirely sure what to make of the recent news she delivered, however, or whether she was being sincere or not. Regardless, Odd feels he owes his life to her, and isn’t going to blame her for trying to save him either way.

Lilia Pascalle - What was supposed to be a simple meet up to aid a girl in finding a place, turned into a nearly life-threatening situation, when Odd found that he wasn't the only one looking after Lilia. Now Odd has taken it upon himself to look after her, almost like a big brother of sorts. Lately, though, she had been acting down. Odd took it upon himself to make sure she’s feeling better, even while he hasn’t been feeling that much better off himself. In all honesty he’s worried about her recent behavior.

Birdman - Oh boy.

Maria - When Sunderland brings home a strange woman—one who looks very striking similar to his dead wife, no less—Odd began to have his suspicions. He won't let that be known so openly, though. While he even let Harry know of his secrets, he decided to keep what he knows about Maria to himself... for now.

Kaywinnit Lee “Kaylee” Frye - This woman Odd met hanging out underneath a tree in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery. She remarked his kindness when he reached out to a gravestone, and they kicked off in conversation. Odd thinks she’s a sweet woman and offered him the friendliness he needed at the time. What more, on accident Odd let slip of his gift when his instincts took over his words. His ongoing insomnia could be to blame, or Odd could simply be losing some control. Either way, he entrusted Kaylee not to be the gossiping sort, and asked her to keep quiet about his ability to see the dead. Over a period of time Odd isn’t entirely sure how he feels about Kaylee. For the time being, he sees her as nothing more than a friend, albeit they have become rather... friendly.

Dante - Odd had some fairly interesting conversation with another Dante before this one showed up. When the former disappeared and another one reappeared shortly afterwards, Odd grew more and more curious. He is certain that this Dante is indeed different from the other he had talked to. So far they seem to get along all right as well.

Fran Madaraki - Offered Odd tea at the Madison Square Garden on Halloween, which triggered a childhood trauma. Although his memory of Fran is hazy, he was able to deliver a vague description of her. Odd doesn’t know why anyone would inflict such a prank on other people, but he has since given up on trying to understand the living and what they do. Odd actually was confronted by her when on the streets, though in a very congenial matter. If matters hadn’t currently been in disarray at the time, Odd would have had more time to be angry with Fran, but as fate had it, he let the incident on Halloween slide.

Cheryl Mason - Harry’s daughter. Odd hadn’t had much time to talk to her much, what with running in and out of the cathedral to find Sunderland at the time, and overall out on daily run for supplies. While does strike him as the independent sort (he didn’t have any qualms with having her tag along in the search party for Sunderland), Odd does feel the need to look after her some when she’s around. Still, she couldn’t have come at a better time. Odd is genuinely glad to see Harry back with his daughter, even if circumstances have deemed their reunion to be a little... awkward.

Angus MacGyver - This guy’s name rings a bell, but Odd can’t quite seem to place where... Either way, he has an inexplicable amount of respect for MacGyver, especially after helping him out when Odd was plunged into yet another roundabout city chase from an army of crab parasites. His ingenuity for simple items has earned an even greater amount of respect, offering Odd ideas on useful resources when in a pinch. Needless to say, the two have become friends.

Jeff Andonuts - Wow, what a bright kid. When the two got into the topic of time travel and alternate universes, Odd was very intrigued, considering his own brief experience with a minor time paradox.

Pokey Minch - There are so few people on this planet that get on Odd’s nerves. This kid happens to be one of those few. Not to mention Odd wasn’t amused in the least when Pokey used him as a human shield when they were being attacked by crab parasites.

Ashe Dalmasca - Helped him out during the crab chase, and healed him when he had probably fractured a bone or two after a sixty-foot fall from a building. To this, Odd is eternally grateful.

Goofy G Goof - Accompanied during the chase as well, and helped fight off crab parasites together. Odd is confounded by this cartoon character.

Robotnik - An interesting fellow and self proclaimed (mad) scientist. Not to mention large and loud. Just fell on their getaway truck.

Zack Fair - On a couple occasions Odd engaged in conversation with Zack, though they’ve yet to actually meet in person. Seems nice enough, though. Since the guy is from a different universe, Odd has educated Zack on matters such as culture and history, as well as the wonders of anesthetics. He helped Zack when the guy got himself stranded at the New York University during a major snowstorm.

Seccom Masada Sensei - Having not spoken a single word, Odd nearly mistook this strange man for being a spirit. Until he remembered that spirits aren’t able to harness a network computer. How embarrassing. Either way, he’s pretty used to having one-sided conversations with mute spirits, so dealing with Masada is not an issue. Strange guy, though.

Malcolm Reynolds - Didn’t quite meet on friendly terms. The man held Odd at gunpoint while he had been visiting their shop while Kaylee had been sick, some time before the Wolf At The Door event. On occasion he has talked to Mal, and views him as the dependable sort, although overly protective of his crew. Kind of like a father-figure to them. He visited Odd while he had been recovering after the attack and offered to not only help rebuild the cathedral, but with reinforcing its structure.

Garnet til Alexandros - Odd’s first meeting with Garnet was a bit strange. She emerged from Grand Central Station wearing nothing but a night gown. Worried that she would catch hypothermia and frost bite, not to mention run into the more dangerous types in Manhattan, Odd took Garnet in. He dressed her, cleaned her, fed her, and took care of her until she got better and in her right mind again. The two have developed a friendship over a short span of time, and she also revealed to him of her status as a queen from her home world (however, Odd has sworn to secrecy about it). He comforted her when she had been torn up over her lover being with another woman, and hoped for the best for the both of them. Garnet had quickly become a close friend and Odd doesn’t expect anything in return for all the things he’d done for her.

Zidane Tribal - Garnet’s friend, and met him face-to-face finally during the Christmas Eve party. Back then he didn’t have any idea that Zidane was distracted by personal issues, but thought it strange that he seemed more interested in booze than socializing with friends. Odd didn’t make much of it, and accompanied Zidane some time later to Pete’s Tavern when he had intentions of getting drunk, it seemed. Odd isn’t sure what to make of Zidane yet, and has yet to learn that he had officially left Garnet for that other woman.

Spirits

Because of his gift, Odd has encountered a few spirits attached to the inhabitants of Manhattan. The spirits Odd sees are practically NPCs, in that they aren’t played by anyone in particular.

Mary Shepard-Sunderland - James Sunderland's late-wife. Said to have died of an illness, but Odd is beginning to assume otherwise. Currently she roams the corridors of St. Patrick's Cathedral, but for the most part hardly ever leaves her husband. Has no poltergeist potential.

Trina Sinclair - Spirit clinging to Ginger Fitzgerald, after accidentially getting herself killed during a fight between her and Ginger. Possible she could turn poltergeist one day.

Dr. Pascalle - Lilia Pascalle's father. Already has shown signs of being a poltergeist, and even aided in Odd and Lilia's escape from the Birdman because of it. Odd and Dr. Pascalle have made sort of an "agreement" to look after Lilia. Odd feels a little troubled with how he had angered the spirit in order to get themselves out of the Birdman situation, however, as his actions seemed a little uncharacteristic of him.

Dopplegänger

Todd Sugars - GOD BLESS AMERICA.
