Kairi

Appearance:
Kairi’s eyes have stayed the same blue as they’ve always been, though she’s grown her reddish-brown hair down to her shoulders. Around her neck is the same old necklace (a small stone). She’s adopted the same useless-zipper sort of style as Sora, wearing a strapless pink dress over a white tank top, the main zipper undone just a bit. The two on the side are for decoration. The dress ends half way down her thighs, and around the waist is a thin, black belt, and a black pouch at her side with a small purple ribbon around it. Her left wrist has three bands around it: a white-ish one, pale green, and blue.

Her shoes aren’t as bulky anymore – a nice, comfortable size. They’re a light purple for the most part, with some white accents, and the bottoms are black. Above her ankles are a black strings tied around.

Personality:
Kairi has a big heart. She's cares for everyone unless they give her a blatant reason not to, like trying to use her against her friends or something so annoying like that. But just because she has that big heart doesn't mean that she's weak; she can and will defend herself in any way she can, which she got from growing up playing around the group of boys. Kairi is also very high spirited and tries to always stay optimistic. She probably got that from Sora.

Kairi is very defensive when it regards her friends, and even people that she "takes in" to her heart i.e Axel and Demyx. She isn't naive, she just sort of "senses" people's own hearts, or lack there of, and if she isn't warded off by them, will try and give them a second chance. People like Larxene, for one, even if she meets her as "Relena" terrifies Kairi :D So yeah, she's not quite naive lol.

Abilities:
Kairi finally had a chance to fight alongside her friends after Riku presented her with a (very flowery) keyblade. So she’ll be a bit perturbed to realize she doesn’t have that anymore. While Kairi isn’t any help when it comes to battles, she does have a way with talking cheerfully with everyone, and often making friends out of enemies (though surely the crabs won’t talk this one out). If she can communicate with an opponent, then more often enough she can talk her way out of things. She’s also willing to listen and be sympathetic with anyone; everyone is the same to her.

[Note: At the moment I have it that Kairi can’t summon the keyblade. For one, it was something that was given to her and we don’t know if she even has the ability. I’d assume, that as a Princess of Heart, the keyblade would come to her. But because of Manhattan, I think that if she did ever manage, she would pass out.]

Weaknesses:
She would do anything to protect or help her friends. It could be her greatest strength or her worst weakness. She would not be able to protect herself against the Heartless and so many of the other enemies both Riku and Sora have faced; she just doesn't have their kind of power. And crabs? No way in hell would she stand a chance.

History:
Unknown to her friends for quite awhile, Kairi grew up in Hollow Bastion (Radiant Garden) where her grandmother use to often tell her stories that made her into a bigger dreamer with each one. When Kairi was still young, she showed up on Destiny Islands and quickly managed to get into the lives of Sora and Riku and become their friend. Spending so much time with them, Kairi slowly forgot her old home and came to think of Destiny Islands as her true one.

Kairi and her friends had their adventures on the island, but they wanted to experience more, so they set out to build a raft to go out and explore. It was that night that a dark storm brewed and took her away from the island - the last thing she remembered was her home and then there was darkness. The next time she awoke, everything was pulling together, including her past. Princess of Heart. Being sent away from home because of Ansem and another one of his experiments. Kairi's heart was locked away into Sora and he sacrificed himself to give her's back and became a Heartless. But Kairi saw past it and knowing better, saved Sora from the engulfing darkness and brought him back to them. She later was brought to Traverse Town and stayed in the old house, giving away her good luck charm to Sora with the high-hopes that he better bring it back to her, or else, and their she waited for his return.

She found Sora again when the worlds began to rebuild themselves and their landmasses were separating and she could hardly even squeeze in a goodbye, but the promises were there - I'm always with you too, I'll come back to you, I promise! And then she was alone, standing on the beach of Destiny Islands, collapsing back into the sand as the last bit of the world pieced itself back together.

Many months that she felt sick during one of her classes and though she made it through, she woke the next day feeling as though she was missing something extremely important. Selphie told her it was probably just her feeling empty without Riku around anymore... but she knew there was another boy, it was so strong with her! The name escaped her though. And it hurt.

A full year and staring out with Selphie to the old island where they all use to play and she felt it: a name. Sora. She turned away from her friend and ran to the water’s edge, with a letter in a bottle than she cast out to sea.

Later on, she’s on the beach again and Axel appears before her, saying that he’s a friend of Sora and can take her to him. She only goes along with him after Pluto barks at her and leads the way in. It was time for her to find her friends, instead of waiting for them to return.

She ends up in Twilight Town, meeting the crew there and becoming friends with them easily. But of course… things go wrong and her and Pluto are taken from Axel by Saix, locked away in a cell somewhere in the World That Never Was. Luckily, Namine comes to her rescue – a strange bond already formed – and on their way down a path, Saix appears before them again with Berserker Nobodies, and the girls prepare to put up a fight when a cloaked figure takes care of things for them, and Saix runs off. She pulls away the figure’s hood before he could go off, and it looks like “Ansem.”

They manage to find Sora inside the floating castle and she calls out to him, watching as the Heartless over take him. Upset, she jumps down and rushes towards him, hoping to somehow be of help. Riku destroys the Heartless and gives her a keyblade of her own – “This time, I’ll fight.” – and then the three friends are finally reunited.

They continue to fight and eventually make it to the top of the castle, before the door. Her and Namine rejoin after she gets to see Roxas, and then they leave through a portal that Namine opens up.

Kairi turns away, standing with Goofy, Donald, and Mickey on the beach, waiting for the others to come through, but the portal closes and she rushes out toward the water, only when her foot splashes in, she finds the water gone, and she’s standing in the streets of Manhattan.

Character Relationships

Axel

Honestly? Kairi's reaction to Axel should have been a liiiiittle more weary. But lucky for him, good ol' Spish hadn't watched the CSes from KH2 anytime soon :| But anyway. Kairi forgave Axel for the whole kidnapping thing, was worried about him while he was sick with crab-doom, and made sure he was okay. Axel and Kairi... they have a very strange relationship with how they act when no one's (well, when Riku and Sora) aren't around. Axel flirts, and Kairi will most of the time, knowingly, go along with it. If Sora ever catches them, she just hopes it will make him jealous.

Kairi does know when to 'stop' Axel from going 'too far' or... something of the sort. During the pool party at Keyblader's Court, she did push him in the pool and was extremely amused afterwards. She learned about explosives from him, and went along on the scouting mission (against Sora's wishes), and later on the mission to actually lay the explosives around Big Mommy's lair (after a very long argument with Sora). After things went badly, Kairi needed some time to mentally sort herself out, and when Axel suggested those involved high-tailed it and keep low for a bit, she went along with him and Roxas. Needless to say, it was interesting being an 'exile' with them for awhile. Including Axel being scared of raindrops, and 'paying' him for bodyguard service with hard candy.

Demyx

Demyx is an... odd thing. Yes, Kairi knows he's with Organization XIII and shouldn't be trusted. But Kairi finds him harmless here, and often times she likes to give people second chances. Sure... she shouldn't have invited him over for breakfast without telling anyone, but it all worked out fine afterwards! She has warned him if he hurts any of her friends that he's deadmeat (and Kairi very rarely threatens people) and she thinks that they all get along rather well. When he went missing sometime around Big Mommy's rampage, she was extremely worried.

Donald

Not much to actually say about Donald. She oddly hasn't interacted with him much. But he is a friend, and good for a laugh.

Goofy

Kairi and Goofy take care of everyone, and they tend to work together to do so. She can trust him to watch over people when she can't, and he can do the same with her. They make a good tagteam!

James S.

LOL TROUBLE IN THE KITCHEN WATCH OUT. Uh. Kairi made him pancakes once. Spish has to tag that thread.

Larsa Ferrinas Solidor

Kairi hasn't actually met Larsa yet, but he seems like a good kid, and she loosely trusts him with Naminé; not as much as Loz.

Larxene / "Relena"

Kairi met Larxene once, but she didn't actually know it was Larxene, who introduced herself as "Relena." She made Kairi extremely uneasy though, and Kairi didn't last long at that party. After she was away from the woman, she felt much better, but her heart was still pounding.

Loz

Kairi trusts Loz to protect Naminé, although it was hard at first. After Naminé was crab-bitten, Kairi yelled her head off at Loz before breaking down in tears. The pair came to an odd sort of understanding, and Kairi again trusts him.

Mao

Lol Mao... Like many Nobodies, Kairi also seems to have enough of a heart for demons. She likes to think of Mao as a friend, even if he doesn't want her to. She actually knows a fair deal about him after several in-depth conversations over the journals, things that she would never tell anyone as it would be a betrayel of the loose trust she has. She needs to talk to him again sometime to see how he's doing :D

Marluxia

Oh god. Marly. Kairi does not like Marluxia at all. He's the one person she would probably be able to summon the keyblade against (which would be moot, as she would collapse), but even knowing she would probably lose, she would fight him to protect Naminé. She is extremely cautious of him, and will not trust him for a moment.

Naminé

Ohhh Kairi loves her Nobody <3 She'd do anything to protect her, which would probably make Naminé unhappy, but, well. That's life. When the time comes... Kairi wants Naminé to have the choice of rejoining with her. In a way, Kairi wouldn't mind either way. Sure she'll feel 'complete' if they rejoin, but she enjoys being able to talk to her Nobody, and it wouldn't seem fair to swipe away the life Naminé is developing...

Riku

Kairi loves Riku, although not as much as Sora, but she does feel strongly for him. She's glad that they're in Manhattan all together, and that Riku isn't like... lost somewhere again. Riku also taught her how to fight! omg I'm so sorry Reb I still have to tag that x___x *horrible* Riku worried the hell out of her when he went missing around Big Mommy's rampage. She trusts him to be able to look after himself... BUT I MEAN REALLY. DON'T DO THAT TO THE GIRL.

Riza Hawkeye

Riza was the first one who found Kairi when she arrived, very confused, in Manhattan. She's very glad that the woman did, and kept her safe until Naminé found her.

Roxas

Kairi respects Roxas. Maybe it helps that she was 'exiled' with him for a period of time, but she knows that while Sora really likes to see Roxas (like Kairi often times with Naminé), she knows that Roxas just doesn't. So if he wants to stay away, she won't tell Sora where he is, she just needs to know he's safe. Although as long as he's with Axel, she knows that the pair will be. She was quite glad to see him with Sora though after the keyblade master went missing for four days; she was surprised by Roxas' presence.

Sora

:DDDDDDD Yes, Kairi loves Sora, no, she won't tell him or anyone. She tries to block out that awkward soup night. Still, she does hope that Sora will catch her flirting with Axel and will OMG RUSH IN TO CLAIM HER (long as he doesn't keyblade Axel to second-death). There are times she wishes Sora wouldn't worry as much as he does - she can take care of herself, she won't get in his way now, so he should just shove off. But once and awhile she doesn't mind it. She did force him to dance with her once, as awkward as it had been at first.

Vincent

Kairi is very polite to Vincent, even after the night that she found Demyx bringing the poor guy back to the Court after Men's Bowling Party, drunk. He wants to pay her back for helping that night, but she tells him not to worry about it. She looks forward to helping him find a ring for Lucrecia, although she is a bit unsure of it, not because of Vincent, but because she doesn't wear any of that sort of jewelry herself. She hopes she'll pick out something nice...

Xigbar

Kairi has no damn idea. She really, really doesn't. She hadn't 'officially' met him when Sora was battling him (she was a bit preoccupied with Heartless, after all), but she doesn't have a clue what to do about him in Manhattan. He doesn't terrify her like Larxene, or piss her off like Marluxia, so she'll probably just put him in a gray space and ignore him unless she has to.
